Don‘t just go for ANY TREATMENT... Go for the BEST TREATMENT

A Felon is a painful bacterial infection that affects the fingertip, usually the pad of the thumb or fingers. It leads to intense throbbing pain, swelling, redness, and heat due to the collection of pus in the soft tissue. Felon infections are commonly caused by minor cuts, nail-biting, injuries, or puncture wounds that allow bacteria to enter. Because the fingertip has less space for swelling, pressure builds quickly, causing severe pain. If not treated promptly, the infection may spread deeper to bones, joints, or tendons, which is why early attention is important.

Causes

Felon typically develops when bacteria (often Staphylococcus aureus) enter the fingertip through cuts, pricks, splinters, nail biting, manicures, or skin peeling. People who frequently work with sharp instruments, chemicals, or who have low immunity are more prone. Tight swelling occurs because the fingertip tissues have very little space to expand, resulting in severe pressure and pain.

Indicates infection has formed an abscess

Lifestyle & Care Tips

  • Keep the affected finger clean and dry.
